When does Cervantino festival start in Guanajuato this year?

Also, is it possible to find the place to stay during the festival without reservations? Many thanks in advance!

1. I understand that it starts up during the second two weeks of October and lasts as long as the first two weeks of November. You can find accommodations, but they will be sparse and of poor quality. Perhaps with the ongoing economic situation, there will be less visitors this year. I will be be driving through the area at the end of October and hope to find something also.
2. From October 14 to November !st. As for traveling there without reservations, I'd say don't do it. Most places are booked in advanced and you may have to bunk in a rather seedy place. Some people sleep in the streets or in their vehicles but this custom is being discouraged by police officers and locals. Have a good time.
